Qatar has explicitly and repeatedly denied this, calling the claim 'false' and 'misleading,' and Qatari/Iranian search teams instead recovered and DNA-identified the remains of one pilot, Brigadier General Majid Kazemi, indicating he was killed rather than captured. No independent verification of the fate of the other two pilots has been reported, and no dedicated fact-check from Reuters Fact Check, AFP Fact Check, Bellingcat, or EUvsDisinfo specifically adjudicating this claim was found in search results — only straight news reporting of the dueling government claims.
