This claim was carried by Iranian state-linked media (Mehr News Agency), and picked up by secondary/regional outlets including APA (Azerbaijan), Izvestia (Russia), Middle East Eye, and an aggregator site (Zambian Observer). All of these outlets attribute the claim explicitly to the IRGC itself (via statements, state radio, or Telegram) rather than presenting it as independently verified fact — Middle East Eye specifically frames it as Iran 'claiming' damage. I was unable to locate any US Department of Defense/Pentagon statement, US Navy statement, or reporting from Reuters, AP, or AFP confirming or denying that such strikes actually occurred.
