Evidence

A web search found AP's report, republished by CP24, KDH News and Haaretz. It says airstrikes hit a market in southwestern Yemen on a Friday and killed at least 30 people, according to an official with the Iran-backed Houthis. The snippets I saw also say the Saudi-backed government denied carrying out the strikes and blamed the Houthis, and that the Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of bombing the market. The Haaretz URL and the CP24 URL carry dates in November 2026, which I couldn't reconcile with the other results. I found no independent confirmation of the death toll or of who carried out the strike. I found no Reuters, AFP, Bellingcat or EUvsDisinfo fact-check of this claim.

Assessment

AP's wire report, carried by several outlets, matches the claim as a statement of what each side said. The death toll comes only from a Houthi official, and responsibility for the strike is disputed and not independently established.

Confidence

Some independent corroboration was found, but it isn't yet conclusive.
