President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a series of statements on Russian war preparations and Ukraine's own capabilities. He said he believes Vladimir Putin is planning an unannounced, covert mobilisation in Russia and intends to use the expanded manpower to pressure not only Ukraine but also Europe. Zelenskyy also said Russia plans to bring an additional 30,000 to 50,000 North Koreans to perform tasks on Russian territory, expanding Pyongyang's role in supporting Moscow's war effort. On Ukraine's side, Zelenskyy said he was satisfied with the results of a 40-day operation aimed at exerting pressure on Russia, and "advised against" further Russian strikes on Ukrainian logistics. He also confirmed that a domestically produced Ukrainian ballistic missile could see successful combat use this autumn, though large-scale deployment is not yet expected. The remarks signal Kyiv's intent to keep escalating long-range pressure while warning allies of a larger, better-manned Russian force.
