Throughout late July and August, PAGASA issued a series of routine forecasts for the Philippines tracking the southwest monsoon (habagat) and various low-pressure areas. Coverage included the habagat easing over the Visayas in late July, low-pressure areas assessed as unlikely to become tropical depressions, precautionary wind and sea advisories for the Ironman 70.3 Cebu race, Tropical Storm Peilou moving away from the country without local impact, and generally fair-to-cloudy conditions persisting in Cebu into mid-August. While none of these individual updates represented major storms, they reflect the Philippines' ongoing monsoon season and PAGASA's continuous monitoring of potential tropical cyclone development in the region.
