Throughout late July and August, PAGASA issued a series of routine forecasts and advisories for the Philippines, including fair-to-cloudy conditions with isolated rains in Cebu, periods of monsoon (habagat) rains affecting the Visayas that later weakened, precautionary wind and sea advisories for the Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu event, monitoring of low-pressure areas deemed unlikely to strengthen, and Tropical Storm Peilou tracking away from the country without significant impact.
