Israel fired shells into a western suburb of Damascus on Friday, landing near the town of Beit Jinn with no reported injuries, while the IDF reportedly shelled a Syrian hill about 10 kilometers from the border for a second consecutive night. Separately, Iran's Supreme National Security Council held discussions as the US eased restrictions on contacts with Hezbollah. Israel also carried out a drone strike in southern Lebanon, hitting an area near an orphanage between the towns of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Mayfadoun, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. The report said Israel also targeted the town of Haris in Bint Jbeil, extending the pattern of near-daily cross-border strikes despite the ceasefire framework.
