Hawaii's Big Island began recovery and damage assessment efforts after Hurricane Lala, downgraded to a tropical storm, rolled past the island dumping heavy rain across the archipelago; Gov. Josh Green said officials were investigating possible storm-related deaths. Shortly after, a new system, Tropical Storm Moke, threatened to dump more than a foot of additional rain on the already hurricane-stricken state.
