A surge of settler attacks swept the occupied West Bank in late August, drawing condemnation even from some Israeli officials. In Qusra and Jalud, masked settlers stormed homes—one incident saw a house taken over with a Palestinian family still inside—while an NBC News crew interviewed witnesses to the violence. Separately, British activist Finn Joughin, who was detained by settlers after allegedly trying to protect Palestinian property, is set to be deported from Israel following intervention by the UK government. His lawyer said Joughin was attempting to stop settlers before being taken into custody and handed to police over an alleged assault on a minor.
