The National Hurricane Center tracked a tropical disturbance in the Atlantic that developed into Tropical Storm Dolly on Thursday, roughly 1,145 miles east of the Leeward Islands. The storm's name drew attention for its coincidental timing with the death and mourning of country singer Dolly Parton. By Sunday, NHC reported Dolly had weakened and fallen apart while moving rapidly westward, posing no threat to land.
