PAGASA has issued a series of daily forecasts for Cebu and the Visayas region tracking the influence of the southwest monsoon (habagat), which has alternated between bringing persistent rain and thunderstorms and periods of fair, partly cloudy weather. The monsoon affected outdoor events including the Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu triathlon and the Halad sa Pagtuo 2026 festival, with forecasters also monitoring low-pressure areas that were deemed unlikely to develop into tropical depressions.
