The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza reported that more than 900 people have been killed in the Strip this year despite the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, bringing the total death toll since that date to over 1,300, including 301 children. The figures illustrate continued deadly violence in Gaza notwithstanding the nominal truce. A subsequent report said eight Palestinians were killed and 31 wounded in the past 24 hours alone, including one death from previous wounds, per the Gaza health ministry. The cumulative toll since the ceasefire has risen to at least 1,334 killed and 4,429 wounded, with 815 bodies recovered from rubble, while additional victims reportedly remain trapped under debris or on roadsides inaccessible to medical and civil defence teams.
