Palestinian health officials reported that Israel's military campaign in Gaza has killed 73,651 people and injured 174,575 since October 2023, with hospitals receiving 17 more bodies over a recent 48-hour period. Separately, Hamas-run health authorities said more than 900 people have been recovered from rubble in recent weeks as excavation of destroyed buildings continues. On Sunday, Palestinians in Gaza City held a mass funeral for 100 people, including 62 children, whose remains were recovered from the rubble of buildings destroyed in Israeli strikes in the al-Zeitoun neighbourhood. Fifty-five of the victims belonged to the Malaka family, killed in a November 2023 air strike, while the remaining bodies belonged to other families, according to Gaza's civil defence, underscoring how the toll continues to rise as more remains are unearthed long after the initial strikes.
