Neil Druckmann revealed that Naughty Dog had no creative involvement in HBO's The Last of Us Season 3, unlike the prior two seasons, as he stepped back to focus on the studio's game projects including Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Separately, it resurfaced that Naughty Dog's first attempt to adapt The Last of Us was originally pitched as a film before being abandoned in favor of the now-successful HBO series.
