Multiple Israeli strikes and shelling incidents across Gaza City, Deir al-Balah and other areas killed at least a dozen Palestinians over the weekend, including several children. Victims included an eight-year-old girl and her father killed in a strike on their vehicle on the girl's first day of school, a boy killed by artillery shelling on a school sheltering displaced people, and others killed in drone strikes on civilian cars in the al-Nasr and Rimal neighborhoods. The Hamas-run health ministry says more than 900 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza this year despite the ceasefire, bringing the total killed since October 2023 above 73,000. The continuing casualties highlight how nominal truce arrangements have not stopped near-daily Israeli military action in the Strip, drawing renewed international criticism over civilian harm.
