NavigateAI, the new company from former Opendoor CEO Eric Wu, has been operating out of stealth since May, building AI-powered copilots that give construction workers real-time, hands-free guidance via smartphones and Meta's AI glasses. The startup has raised $25 million from investors including Elad Gil, Khosla Ventures, and homebuilder Lennar. The company aims to address a severe labor crunch in construction, where projects such as data centers can each require 4,000 to 5,000 workers. By digitizing guidance and training, NavigateAI hopes to help fill gaps left by the shortage of skilled tradespeople.
