A large study of more than 270,000 people found that higher blood levels of tyrosine, an amino acid found in protein-rich foods and sold as a focus-boosting supplement, is linked to a shorter lifespan in men — potentially reducing life expectancy by nearly a year — with no significant effect found in women. Researchers used both observational and genetic data to reach the conclusion.
