German company Isar Aerospace successfully launched its Spectrum rocket into low Earth orbit from a Norwegian spaceport, becoming the first fully commercial orbital rocket launch from continental Europe. The achievement follows a failed attempt last March that ended in an explosion 30 seconds after liftoff. CEO Daniel Metzler hailed the launch as opening space access from continental Europe, calling it a milestone achieved 'within a few years' that took the broader European space industry decades to reach previously.
