Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko formally submitted his resignation after a senior subordinate, Deputy Prosecutor General Mariia Vdovychenko, was accused of shielding fraudulent call centers. Kravchenko called the move political, but sources cited by Ukrainska Pravda suggested deeper tensions within Ukraine's anti-corruption apparatus. Sources say President Volodymyr Zelensky subsequently met separately with Kravchenko after first speaking with the heads of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), suggesting the president is directly involved in managing the fallout from the scandal and any decision on Kravchenko's future.
