Major General Sergei Malkov, a deputy head of the Moscow region's Interior Ministry branch, along with EvroTrans board chairman Igor Martyshov and other senior company managers, were detained over an alleged scheme to embezzle fuel designated for police vehicles. Moscow's Meshchansky District Court has since ordered Martyshov, chairman of the Trassa gas station chain's parent EvroTrans, held in custody until November 6, according to Russian business outlet RBC, indicating the investigation into the fuel theft scheme is proceeding with formal pretrial detention.
