Philippine weather authority PAGASA issued a series of routine daily and special forecasts for Cebu and the Visayas region over recent weeks, citing the ongoing southwest monsoon (habagat) as the main driver of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms amid generally fair to partly cloudy conditions. Forecasts covered specific events including the Halad sa Pagtuo 2026 festival and the IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu triathlon, for which officials warned of strong winds and rough seas. PAGASA also tracked Tropical Storm Peilou, which moved away from the Philippines without impact, and monitored low-pressure areas deemed unlikely to strengthen.
