Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the country's population reached 10,305,000 ahead of Rosh Hashanah, up 1.2% over the past year. The increase of about 124,000 people included 182,000 births and 24,000 new immigrants, though emigration produced a net migration loss of 8,000.
