NASA and European partners' Sentinel-6B satellite, flying 30 seconds behind predecessor Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, is providing precise sea-level measurements to improve hurricane forecasting during what oceanographers expect to be a historic El Niño season. The data is intended to help protect coastal infrastructure and support shipping and other industries.
