Throughout late July, August, and early September, PAGASA repeatedly forecast isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across Cebu and the Visayas region due to the southwest monsoon, or habagat, alternating with fair, partly cloudy conditions. The monsoon influenced weather during various local events, including the Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu triathlon and the Halad sa Pagtuo 2026 festival, while PAGASA also monitored several low-pressure areas and a tropical storm (Peilou) that ultimately moved away without significantly affecting the country.
