Alexander Zverev of Germany defeated Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands in straight sets to reach the semifinals of the US Open. Zverev is the only Grand Slam champion remaining in the men's singles draw. He will next face Russia's Karen Khachanov for a place in the final, as the tournament nears its concluding stages in New York.
