The next round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, previously planned for Rome in September, has been delayed until October, according to a US official. Despite the postponement, Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors are set to meet at the State Department in Washington to discuss ongoing developments related to a framework agreement reached in June. The delay comes amid continued friction along the Israel-Lebanon border and ongoing implementation disputes tied to the earlier framework deal. Officials characterized the Washington meeting as a stopgap to maintain diplomatic momentum until the Rome talks can be rescheduled.
