NASA announced that the Republic of Djibouti will sign the Artemis Accords at a ceremony at NASA Headquarters on September 14, 2026, becoming the 72nd country to join the international space cooperation framework. NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson is set to host Djibouti's delegation as part of the agency's ongoing push to expand the accords' global membership. Separately, NASA highlighted that its commitment to open science and data sharing under the Artemis program extends to all signatory nations, with lunar samples, datasets, and discoveries from the Moon to be shared with the global scientific community. NASA said this open-data commitment has already been upheld by the 71 countries that had signed the Artemis Accords prior to Djibouti's addition, underscoring the framework's emphasis on transparency alongside its diplomatic expansion.
