Israel says it has destroyed a major underground Hezbollah base in south Lebanon, using more than 1,100 tonnes of explosives to demolish alleged tunnel networks. The resulting blast was powerful enough to register as the equivalent of a magnitude 4.1 earthquake, according to the US Geological Survey. The massive detonation on a hillside in southern Lebanon drew widespread attention and explanatory coverage of the scale of the operation.
