Russian forces continued a wave of strikes on Ukrainian population centers and infrastructure overnight into September 12, following the September 11 strike on Kramatorsk that killed two residents and damaged more than 20 houses. Moscow claimed some of the strikes hit Ukrainian ships and industrial plants, though Ukrainian officials continue to describe the attacks as targeting civilian infrastructure and population centers. The escalating toll underscores the intensifying tempo of Russian aerial attacks as the war enters another autumn, with concerns mounting over the state of Ukraine's energy grid heading into winter.
