Blizzard announced at BlizzCon 2026 that Heroes of the Storm will receive its first new playable character in six years, Xal'atath, tying into WoW's ongoing storyline as it approaches its conclusion. Xal'atath joins the Public Test Realm starting Monday, September 14, with a full release to follow shortly after, marking a rare update for the MOBA which had largely stagnated since 2022.
