Harvey Smith, former co-director of Redfall at Arkane Austin, said in a recent interview that Arkane 'never should have been working on a games-as-a-service game,' reflecting on the troubled shooter's development and reception. Smith has since left Arkane and founded a new studio, Black Pony Immersive, last month, continuing his focus on immersive sim game design outside the games-as-a-service model.
