Blizzard officially confirmed World of Warcraft: Forever, the long-rumored 'Classic+' project, at BlizzCon 2026. The game locks players at level 60 with the original WoW world intact but adds new zones, quests, dungeons, raids and a new playable race called Skyborne starting this fall. Developers have since revealed that World of Warcraft: Forever will also receive a hardcore mode by winter, introducing permadeath mechanics to the classic-style experience. The addition raises the stakes for players navigating the project's newly added content, given the wealth of new and previously undiscovered ways to die within the expanded world.
