Rockstar Games has confirmed that actor Stephen Root (King of the Hill) is voicing a character in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, marking the first publicly confirmed cast member for the highly anticipated crime epic. Root, who plays the drug-runner Brian Heder, confirmed his role on September 13 after fans correctly identified his voice. The following day, Root won his first-ever Emmy award for his performance on the show Widow's Bay, making him just the second-ever Emmy-winning actor to appear in a GTA game, after James Woods, who voiced Mike Toreno in 2004's GTA: San Andreas. Separately, retailers have also begun offering minor promotional discounts on GTA 6 preorders for PS5 ahead of the game's release.
