At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard made a pair of major surprise announcements: Diablo 5, targeting a spring 2029 release, and a new open-world StarCraft shooter due in 2030. Diablo 5 will reintroduce Diablo himself following his defeat in Diablo 3, will launch with more classes than any prior entry in the series (including Monk, Demon Hunter, and new class Plague Knight), and executive producer Matt Zitterman says the isometric action-RPG combat is being refined rather than reinvented.
