Light, maker of the minimalist Light Phone line designed to be used as little as possible, is adding a direct Uber and Lyft booking tool called Rideshare to its Light Phone III and upcoming Light Flip devices. Users can find pickup and drop-off locations, view fares and ETAs, choose trip options or saved locations, and book rides directly from the device. The update reflects an effort to add practical utility to the deliberately stripped-down phones without compromising their minimalist design philosophy, more than a decade after the original Light Phone launched via Kickstarter.
