Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed the Ukraine war could have ended a year ago had the US and Europe upheld the 2025 Anchorage agreements, blaming Washington for backing away from the deal. He separately said Russia is ready for a new round of trilateral talks with the United States and Ukraine. Lavrov also said he is confident Russia will recover its reserves frozen in the European Union, accusing the West of "legal aggression" over the asset freeze. His comments add to a series of recent statements positioning Russia as seeking both a negotiated resolution to the war and restitution of frozen financial assets.
