The US State Department extended its visa ban on Palestinian officials for a second consecutive year ahead of the UN General Assembly, barring Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas among others. Abbas's entry visa was rejected, with the notice citing an alleged association with a terror group without further elaboration, forcing him to again address the UN General Assembly virtually rather than in person.
