Chinese AI startup Moonshot connected its model to major Wall Street data providers, signing on financial giants including investment bank CICC and several venture capital firms. Separately, research group Rhodium Group found that OpenAI and Anthropic together generate roughly ten times more revenue than all Chinese AI models combined, though low revenue for Chinese firms doesn't necessarily correspond to lower valuations. The findings underscore the widening commercial gap between leading U.S. AI labs and their Chinese counterparts even as Chinese firms push into new markets like financial data services.
