Heavy clashes were reported between Yemeni government forces and Houthi fighters in Taiz governorate, particularly around the al-Waziyah district near the al-Dharifah intersection. Government military sources said about 30 Houthi fighters were killed and 60 wounded, with government forces also conducting air strikes on Houthi positions in the area. Separately, Houthi forces reportedly launched a ballistic missile attack on the King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, according to Iranian news agency Tasnim, causing disruption at the port though the extent of damage was unclear. Analysts have also argued the years-long Saudi-Yemen conflict shows the limits of relying on US backing, as Gulf leaders increasingly weigh taking greater responsibility for regional security themselves.
