A new television anime adaptation of Tetsu Kariya's long-running gourmet manga 'Oishinbo,' titled 'Shin Oishinbo,' was announced at Shin-Ei Animation's 50th anniversary stage at ABEMA Anime Festival 2026. The original manga, which began serialization in 1983 and has been on hiatus since 2014, previously inspired a TV anime that ran from 1988 to 1992. The announcement revives interest in the classic culinary manga franchise for a new generation of viewers.
