Scientists have developed a new method to create a controlled beam of muonium, an exotic atom containing a heavier cousin of the electron, enabling the first tests of whether gravity acts on second-generation particles exactly as predicted by Einstein's general relativity. Any deviation could point to new physics, including a hypothetical fifth force.
