The National Hurricane Center reported no active tropical cyclones in the Atlantic basin as of September 19, 2026. Forecasters are, however, monitoring a low-pressure system several hundred miles southwest of the Azores (designated AL99), where showers and thunderstorms have become more concentrated, raising the possibility that a tropical depression could form later on September 18 or 19. The system does not currently threaten land and is being tracked as part of routine seasonal monitoring. No impacts have been reported.
