The Democratic Republic of Congo has begun distributing an Ebola vaccine to frontline health workers as the death toll from the country's latest outbreak continues to rise. Health authorities plan to vaccinate roughly 50,000 frontline staff against a different Ebola strain than those covered by previous immunization campaigns. As part of the effort, about 20,000 workers have been enrolled in a one-year clinical trial to assess the vaccine's effectiveness.
