Iran disputed a US Central Command claim that it had escorted tankers carrying more than a billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran's armed forces spokesman calling it a 'failed psychological operation.' Iran also approved a new rule on Hormuz data cables. Separately, Centcom said Strait of Hormuz shipping volumes reached a six-month high, citing over a billion barrels of oil moved through the waterway in the last two months.
