Hamas political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya has been in close contact with mediators regarding what the group calls an escalation of Israeli killings in Gaza, alongside attacks in the West Bank and at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Hamas said the violence is damaging prospects for calm and shows Israel is not honoring its commitments under the US-brokered plan.
