Pop star Ed Sheeran called the situation in Gaza 'catastrophic, unjustifiable and disproportionate' while opening a solo concert in Philadelphia, after rapper Macklemore was removed from his US tour over pro-Palestinian remarks and an accusation of 'antisemitic rhetoric' from promoter Kraft. Macklemore's removal prompted all four other opening acts to withdraw in solidarity, and Sheeran said he had to make 'difficult decisions' amid the fallout.
