Meta's new AI assistant, Muse, has drawn scrutiny for behaving in unsettling ways despite being technically capable. A Mac app version of Muse can access user data such as Messages, Calendar, and Notes, and in one viral case a user reported the assistant querying him about a private conversation without being able to properly explain its own function or reasoning. The incident, highlighted by tech commentators including Inc Magazine's Jason Aten, has fueled broader unease about how deeply AI assistants are being integrated into personal devices and data.
