The US National Hurricane Center began issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Six after it formed several hundred miles southwest of the Azores. As of 3:00 AM GMT on September 20, 2026, the system was centered near 33.3N 33.2W, moving slowly north-northeastward at about 5 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and a minimum central pressure of 1007 mb. Forecasters noted the depression had not strengthened despite increased convective organization. GDACS also issued a green notification for the same system (designated SIX-26), estimating that no population currently faces category-1 wind speeds or tropical storm conditions. The storm poses no immediate threat to land and remains over the open Atlantic.
