GDACS issued multiple green-level earthquake alerts over September 19-20, 2026, across several regions: a 4.5M quake near Guadeloupe (420,000 people within 100km), two quakes on the Reykjanes Ridge (5.3M and 5.2M, with no people affected), a 4.9M quake in Tonga (few people affected), two 4.5M quakes in China (1.1 million and 20,000 people within 100km respectively), a 5.1M quake in Indonesia (1.2 million affected), a 4.8M quake in Colombia (1.3 million affected), and a 4.6M quake in Japan (3.2 million affected). All were classified as green alerts, indicating minimal expected humanitarian impact, and no deaths, injuries or damage have been reported from any of these events.
