Russia carried out repeated strikes on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast over more than 24 hours around September 20, using jet-powered drones and other munitions. In Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district a woman was injured and a park fire started; air defenses engaged multiple threats over the capital, with Mayor Vitali Klitschko urging residents into shelters. Regional officials reported 31 sites damaged across five districts of Kyiv Oblast, including warehouse fires in Boryspil district. Casualties mounted through the attacks: a mother and two children were killed in Fastiv district, another mother and child were injured in Vyshhorod, and a child injured in the Vyshhorod strike later died, bringing the regional death toll to four, including three children. Ukrainian forces reported downing a Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drone using a new interceptor twice in one day.
